The Calendar
See every lane, court, or room at a glance for the day, drag bookings to a new time, and block out capacity.
What the Calendar shows
Open Calendar in the main menu for your location. Each row is one bookable resource — a lane, court, room, or piece of equipment — laid out across the day, with every booking shown as a coloured block at its time. A separate Tickets section at the bottom groups bookings that don't tie up a specific resource, like general-entry tickets sold against a shared headcount.
- A red line tracks the current time when you're viewing today.
- Booking blocks are coloured by status — checked-in bookings stand out from ones still awaiting arrival.
- Tap a booking block to open its details: customer, party size, status, and the same check-in / rebook / cancel actions available from Bookings.
- Tap an empty spot on a resource's row to start a new booking there. Once you've picked the time and party, choose how payment happens: Take payment now creates the order and opens it so you can collect straight away, or Pay on arrival confirms the booking as unpaid and you collect when the guest turns up. On the register, you can also choose Add to cart to put the booking on the current sale and take payment at the normal checkout alongside anything else you're ringing up.
- Bookings that still owe money show a small $ marker on their block (and an Unpaid tag in their details). Open the booking and press Take payment whenever you're ready to collect — the order opens right there on the Calendar.
Grouping and filtering
Use the Type / Group / Both tabs to switch how resources are grouped — by their type (e.g. "Lanes"), by a custom group underneath a type (e.g. "Section 1"), or both. The resource filter narrows the view down to specific lanes, courts, or rooms when you only need to see part of the venue. There's also a product filter in the toolbar: pick one or more bookable products to show only their bookings — every resource stays on screen, so you can still see what's free while focusing on one product's day.
Moving a booking
Drag a booking block to a new time, or to a different row of the same type, to move it. The Calendar snaps to sensible time increments as you drag and shows the new time above the block while you move it. Release to confirm — the move happens immediately and is checked against capacity and any blocks in place, so a move that would double-book a spot or land inside a blocked window is rejected with a message explaining why.
Blocking capacity
Press Block capacity to close out a window of time — for the whole venue, one resource, or one bookable product — so nothing new can be booked into it. This is the tool for a public holiday closure, taking one lane offline for maintenance, or freeing up a room for a private function.
Before you confirm a block, the dialog shows any live bookings that already overlap the window you've chosen — a heads-up, not a blocker: those bookings stay in place and the block only stops new sales. Existing blocks show as a striped bar across the affected row (or across every row, for a venue-wide block); tap one to see its details and remove it.
On the register, blocking or removing a block asks a manager to enter their PIN before it goes through — the same approval used for other till overrides.
Checking availability before you book
The Availability picker in the toolbar lets you pick one bookable product (and, for products with party sizes, how many people) to paint the day with green windows showing when and where it still has room. Resources the product can never use dim out, so you can see at a glance where a group could go.
Saved views
If you regularly work with the same slice of the Calendar — say, just the tennis courts, or grouped by section — save it as a view. Open the Views menu in the toolbar:
- Save current as view… captures the current grouping, resource filter, and time range under a name you choose, with an option to set it as the location's default (the view everyone sees when they first open the Calendar).
- Pick any saved view from the list to apply it instantly — switching views doesn't reload the day, so it's quick to jump between them.
- Each saved view offers Set as default, Update to current filters (re-save it with whatever you're currently looking at), and Delete.
Saved views are managed from this page; on the register, staff can apply any saved view but managing them (saving, updating, deleting, changing the default) is done here.
Staying current automatically
The Calendar refreshes itself in the background roughly once a minute, so a booking moved or created by someone else at another till or in another browser tab shows up without you needing to do anything. If the page has been sitting in the background for a while, it also catches up as soon as you switch back to it.
