Suggest an idea on any page, vote on ideas from teammates, and how reviewers accept, decline or merge them.

Ideas and voting

Not every improvement is a full edit — sometimes you just have an idea worth raising ("this page should mention the new supplier" or "we should add a step here"). Ideas let anyone flag that without needing edit access.

Suggesting an idea

On any page you can read, choose Suggest an idea and describe what should change or be added. Your idea appears in the page's Ideas panel, next to its comments, for others to see and vote on.

Voting

Every idea shows a vote count and an upvote button. Vote for ideas you'd also like to see happen — the panel sorts ideas by votes, so the most-wanted ones rise to the top.

Reviewing ideas

Space owners and reviewers triage ideas from the same panel:

  • Accept — either turn the idea into a task assigned to someone, or draft it straight onto the page as a new suggested change for review.
  • Decline — with a reason, so the person who suggested it understands why (everyone can see it).
  • Merge — if two ideas on the same page are really the same thing, merge one into the other. The merged idea is marked done and links to the idea it became part of; its votes stay with it rather than being added to the other idea's count, so the history of who voted for what stays honest.

Keeping track

Open ideas count toward the Needs attention section on the wiki dashboard for owners and admins, so a growing backlog of unreviewed ideas doesn't go unnoticed. If you watch a page, new ideas on it show up in your notifications the same way other page activity does — see Working together.
