Joining another business
What to do when a business invites your existing Mavos login to join their team.
One Mavos login can belong to several businesses. If you already have an account — because you work somewhere that uses Mavos, or you had one in the past — a business that wants to add you has to invite you, and you decide whether to join.
Accepting an invitation
You'll get an email saying the business has invited you to join their team on Mavos. Nothing changes until you accept.
- Sign in at Staff sign-in with the account you already use. It's the same login as always — the invitation doesn't create a second one, and there's no new password to set.
- Open Invitations. There's a link in the email, and if you already work somewhere on Mavos you'll also see a banner across the top of the admin once you're signed in.
- Press Accept to join, or Decline if you weren't expecting it.
Once you accept, the business appears in your business switcher alongside any others, and you can move between them without signing out. If it's the only business you belong to, you'll go straight there.
Declining
Decline removes the invitation and that's the end of it. The business isn't told anything about you beyond the fact that you didn't join — not which other businesses you work at, nor whether you had an account at all.
If you decline by mistake, ask them to invite you again.
What the business can and can't see
Joining doesn't join anything up. The businesses you belong to are separate: your orders, rosters, pay details and history at one are not visible at another, and moving between them in the switcher doesn't carry anything across.
Your name, email and phone belong to your account rather than to any one business, so you manage them yourself under Settings → My account. None of the businesses you work at can change them.
Each business does control your access to their own venue: your role, which locations you can see, your POS PIN, and your permissions there. Any of them can also remove you from their team, which takes away your access to that business and nothing else — your login and your other businesses are untouched.
If you don't want to be invited again
There's no way to block invitations, but declining costs nothing and can be repeated. If someone is inviting you and shouldn't be, the quickest fix is usually to ask them directly — they can cancel a pending invitation from their own user list.
Common questions
Do I need a new password? No. You sign in exactly as you do now.
I can't find the email. Check your spam folder. If it still hasn't arrived, sign in and open Invitations anyway — it will be waiting there. You can also ask the business to resend it.
I accepted but can't see anything. Look for the business switcher and make sure you've selected the right one. If you still can't get in, ask them to check your role and locations — a new team member with no locations assigned may not see much.
Can I leave later? Ask an owner or admin at that business to remove you. Removing you doesn't delete your login or affect your work anywhere else.
