Forms & surveys

Building a form

Create and lay out a form with the drag-and-drop builder — fields, pages, sections, and a live preview.

Building a form

The form builder is organised into tabs across the top so everything is within reach:

  • Build — add fields and arrange them.
  • Design — colours, spacing, backgrounds and (for power users) custom CSS.
  • Logic — scoring and multi-page behaviour.
  • Outcomes — the “thank you” screens shown after submitting, and response-based routing.
  • Settings — notifications, follow-up tasks, customer profiling and access.

The Build canvas

The Build tab has four columns:

  1. Add field — a palette grouped by purpose (text & choice, numbers & scales, date & contact, media & rich, data & live, and containers like pages and sections).
  2. Active fields — the outline of your form. Drag fields here to reorder them, even between sections. Click a field, page or section to edit it.
  3. Preview — a live, read-only preview. It shows exactly what people will see; you can’t type into it (editing happens through the outline and inspector).
  4. Inspector — settings for whatever you’ve selected.

Pages and sections

Use Page to split a long form into steps, and Section to group related questions on a page. Add either from the Containers group in the palette, or with the “Add page / Add section” buttons in the outline.

Saving and publishing

Your changes stay in a draft until you press Save. Publish makes the latest version live. If anything needs fixing first, the builder lists the problems and the Publish button stays disabled until they’re resolved.

Need a head start?

Use the AI assistant (the AI button in the toolbar) to generate a form from a plain-English description, or to make changes like “add a phone field” or “show the comments box only when the rating is low”.
