Scoring and answer sets
Give answers points, reuse sets like Yes / No / N/A, and see each section's score and the total.
Scoring and answer sets
Scoring turns an audit or checklist into a result, such as 18 out of 20 (90%). Each section gets a score and so does the whole form.
Give answers points
Select a choice question (multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown or word chips). In its settings, type points next to each answer. Tick N/A for an answer that shouldn't count, such as "Not applicable".
- A question is worth the points of its best answer. A question answered with an N/A answer is left out completely, so it doesn't count for or against the score.
- A question that has points is always required. If someone leaves it blank, it scores 0.
- Questions without points don't affect the score. Leave the points empty for questions you don't need answered.
- Score weight multiplies a question's points, so an important question can count double.
For example, with Yes = 1, No = 0 and N/A not counted: two questions both answered Yes score 2 out of 2. If one is answered N/A and the other Yes, the section scores 1 out of 1.
Answer sets
An answer set is a list of answers with points that you can reuse on any choice question. Starter sets include Yes / No / N/A, Pass / Fail / N/A, Good / Fair / Poor / N/A and Compliant / Not compliant / N/A.
- Use a set: select a question, then pick the set under Answer set in its settings. The question's answers and points come from the set. A Yes / No question changes to multiple choice when you do this.
- Manage sets: go to Settings → Scoring and answer sets. Add a starter, make your own with New answer set, change the answers and points, or tick N/A. Press Save and every question using the set updates.
- Stop using a set: pick Own answers. The question keeps its current answers, which you can then change on their own.
- Delete a set: questions that used it keep their answers and points.
Repeating sections
Points inside a repeating section count for each copy. Two rooms with one Yes / No / N/A question each score out of 2. Each copy shows its own score as people fill it in, and the scores add to the section and the form.
Seeing the score
Open a response to see the total (points earned out of points possible, and a percentage), each section's score, and each copy of a repeating section. The score is worked out from the form as it was when the response was sent.
Pass marks and outcomes
To use a pass mark, turn on Scored form (quiz / audit) in Settings → Scoring and answer sets and set Pass at. You can also send people to different thank-you pages based on their score. See Outcome pages and routing.
